Persy delivered and commissioned AI infrastructure for a new training center at the Technical University of Sofia

Persy is a partner in the development of the new AI training center at the Faculty of Industrial Technologies at the Technical University of Sofia – a project aimed at advancing engineering education, applied research, and access to modern AI infrastructure in Bulgaria.

The new laboratory represents an important step toward creating a real technological environment in which students, faculty, and researchers will be able to work with high-performance systems designed for engineering simulations, modeling, data processing, and artificial intelligence applications.

As part of the initiative, Persy delivered, installed, and commissioned the core infrastructure that will support the educational and research activities of the new center.

The implemented solution includes:

  • 2 GPU server systems for high-performance computing and AI workloads
  • 12 individual AI workstations for training and neural network development
  • infrastructure based on AMD EPYC, NVIDIA H200 NVL and ASUS AI Supercomputer technologies

This infrastructure is designed not just to provide a standard computing setup, but a real computing environment that meets the modern requirements of engineering education and R&D activities.

The high-performance GPU server systems will enable the execution of more demanding computational tasks related to data processing, simulations, and AI models, while the individual workstations will allow students to work directly on practical tasks, experiments, and model development in an environment close to real-world industrial applications.

Environment for training, simulations, and research

The new AI center will be used for both education and engineering simulations and research activities.

This means that students will gain not only theoretical knowledge but also practical experience working with modern computing infrastructure – a key factor in preparing them for real industrial and technological environments.

Such laboratory environments are particularly valuable in engineering education, as they create conditions for working on practical cases, modeling, analysis, and experimental activities that increasingly require significant computational resources and access to modern AI technologies.

A strong example of the connection between education and technological practice

The official opening of the training center was attended by:

  • Prof. Dr. Georgi Venkov, Rector of the Technical University of Sofia
  • Prof. Georgi Todorov, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Technologies
  • Ivan Mihaylov, CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria

The presence of representatives from both academia and the business community highlights the importance of such initiatives for the development of the technological ecosystem in Bulgaria.

Projects of this kind create a real foundation for a closer connection between higher education, applied technologies, and the needs of modern industry.

An investment in future engineers and researchers

For Persy, participation in building such an environment is a natural extension of its mission to support the development of technological infrastructure in Bulgaria through real, working, and high-performance solutions.

We believe that access to modern AI infrastructure is increasingly important for preparing the next generation of engineers, researchers, and specialists who will work with technologies shaping the future of industry, automation, and engineering design.

Creating real conditions for education and research is key to bringing education closer to practice – enabling students to develop skills with direct real-world application.

Through its participation in this project, Persy supports not only the implementation of technology but the creation of an environment where innovation can be studied, tested, and applied in practice.
